But no matter if you like Budva or not, you can't deny that their beaches are spectacular! The Montenegro Tourist Board is proud to boast that this stretch of beach was rewarded Grand Prix (Golden Palm) in Paris in 1935, and it has done a brilliant job of continuing to keeping it clean ever since. (Nevermind the fact that I saw them bulldozing these white pebbles off of the beach and replacing them with imported sand for the upcoming tourist season). Despite the cover-up (literally), it is surprising that I found such execrable conditions just down the coastline the night before...
