A great thing happened after I came out of my underground hybernation. Not only had it stopped raining, but the sun shone brightly, making all the streets and buildings look brand new, even though I knew most of them were older than The United States. I was instantly filled with energy and found that I walked with a smile on my face and a bounce in my step, forgetting all about the 45 pounds of gear strapped onto on my back.

This photo was taken shortly after exiting The Underground, right into the heart of the City of London, commonly known as The Square Mile. The building is The Royal Exchange which was built in 1844 and hasn't really changed much since then.
