Iasi, Romania:

This is the view out the window in a friend's apartment. Notice the endless line of buildings. The apartment buildings are common all over Romania and were implemented in major cities by the ex-president Nicolae Ceausescu. He believed that his country would work better if he destroyed houses and put in their place large Stalinist apartment blocks. This was just one of the many insane things that Ceausescu did which lead to his downfall. In 1989, Ceausescu and his wife were killed by the people after 21 years of reigning fear. A recording of their deaths were broadcasted on tv across the country to the delight of the liberated people.

Another interesting factiod: About 70% of Romania's estimated 3 million cars on the road are Dacias. You can see quite a few of them in this picture.
