*Cuzco, Peru December 03, 2004:
I love Cuzco. It has a lot of quaint charm for being the longest occupied city in the Americas. When I wasn't battling the high altitudes with every strained breath, I was enjoying the paved walkways of Inca origins, narrow pedestrian alleys and outdoor markets selling local crafts.
Cuzco is a city where "modern Peruvians wearing "Western" clothing and NY Yankees baseball hats brush shoulders on the sidewalks with Quechua-speaking people wearing brightly-colored clothing made from the wool of their llamas - llamas that they might just happen to have walking quietly beside them on a loose leash.
