Somehow, I believed that since I have one presenatation under my belt, talking about travel to a room full of people would be much easier. Boy, was I wrong! Although, I am not one of the many people who are more afraid of public speaking than dying,(*) I do get a bit nervous sometimes. My presentation at California Map & Travel Center was no exception. And the fact that all of the 30 chairs were filled didn't help matters! But after a stumbling introduction, I got into a rhythm and loosened up a bit.

My discussion was centered around my recent 15-day journey through Croatia & Montenegro. It was extremely tough to narrow down my collection of over 2,000 photos to just 47 slides, but I think I made good choices on my selection of pictures. The audience consisted of a broad range of people, ages 20 to 70. I was surprised to discover that only a few of them have been to these two countries, and only one or two are even planning a trip! So practically my whole audience was here just to see pictures of the area... giving me the chance to convince them of visiting in the future!

I showed a total of 47 slides, talked for 50 minutes, and answered questions for another 30 minutes. I'm looking forward to my next discussion, at Distant Lands in July!

C o n t e n t s :

I never imagined I would have a page on my site like this but after sharing with others my travel experiences I'm hoping to have a list of lectures under my belt in the near future. I am happy to give any type of lecture or presentation on travel so don't be shy - e-mail me and ask!
