Each evening of the fiesta, local businesses and orginizations - its owners, their families, and their staff with family - form a procession to La Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe (The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe). Leading most groups is a large flatbed truck transformed into a fabric-draped float for a scene depicting el milagro (miracle). In front of a translucent plastic halo, a beautiful young señorita draped in a shawl serenely clasps her hands in prayer. At her feet, kneels a boy dressed in homespun cotton fringed with red indígena motifs. Surrounded by homemade flowers, he plays the penitent young Juan Diego to whom the miracle first appeared. The two young people are frozen like statues on the float until the catedral is reached.
