My 19-day visit to Romania climaxed on the last day when Marius and I climbed the 1,400 stairs to Poienari Castle, the ruins of the castle where Vlad Tepes (Dracula) lived! Marius brought his digital camera so I couldn't resist snapping picture after picture of the area with it. In just 3 hours, I took over 120 pictures. The snow had fallen the night before, decorating the trees in a natural white flock. But on the way down, the sun had risen above the hills and started to melt the snow, causing it to rain on us under the tree canopy. Even though we were soaked by the time we arrived back down to the bottom, the excursion was extremely satisfying!
